Building Fashion

The board here reads:
Fabric made from Supima offers durability, resilience to pilling, and an integrity that comes from being made of the strongest cotton on earth.
Sought by the worlds priciest and most prestigious labels, Supima is America's homegrown luxury fiber, with a skin-friendly softness that never-ever-goes away.

Building Fashion at HL23

Building Fashion is a series of collaborating architecture and fashion design, the instillation I viewed was by House of Waris & Christian Wassmann (here until October 17th).

Building Fashion is a series of temporary installations under the High Line at HL23. Fashion designers are paired with architects in an installation series where the intersection of architecture and fashion are explored through integrated store and exhibition design.
There is an outdoor "Supima Cotton Garden" with comfy sacks of Supima cotton along with little tables, a tea bar, and awesome art and books for sale.
Installation 4: 10.21-10.31 Richard Chai & Snarkitecture
Instillation 5: 11.05- 11.15 Siki Im & Leong Leong

*Building Fashion is located at 504 West 24th Street

Japan Fashion Now

I just visited F.I.T's newest exhibition Japan Fashion Now and it was amazing! This exhibition looks at contemporary Japanese fashion from the 80's to current day, from high fashion to street style. With runway shows playing on screens along with music and street looks all from Japan we really get a great sense of the culture and their take on fashion. Including many inspiring looks of both menswear and women’s wear. Designers such as Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons featured some of their pieces here. Japanese Fashion is so influential today and anyone interested in fashion should definitely stop by, you won’t be disappointed!
F.I.T is located at Seventh Avenue at 27 Street New York City 10001-5992(Between 7th & 8th Avenue)
